Buying a Vehicle

How do I reserve a vehicle?

To reserve a vehicle, simply click the "Reserve Vehicle" button on any active listing. You'll need to be logged in and will be guided through a secure payment process. Once your reservation is confirmed, the vehicle will be held for you for a specified period, typically 7 days.

What is a reservation fee?

A reservation fee is a deposit you pay to hold a vehicle while you arrange the full purchase. This amount is typically set by the seller and is usually between £99 and £500. The fee is deducted from the final purchase price when you complete the transaction.

What happens if my reservation expires?

If your reservation expires before you complete the purchase, the vehicle will become available for other buyers. We'll send you reminder emails before your reservation expires. If you need more time, contact the seller directly to discuss an extension.

Can I save vehicles to view later?

Yes! You can add vehicles to your Watchlist by clicking the heart icon on any listing. You'll also receive price drop notifications when vehicles in your watchlist have their prices reduced.

Selling a Vehicle

How do I list a vehicle for sale?

After creating an account and choosing a subscription plan, you can list your vehicle by clicking "Add Vehicle" in your dashboard. You'll need to provide details about the vehicle including make, model, year, mileage, and photos. The more information you provide, the better your listing will perform.

What subscription plans are available?

We offer several subscription tiers to suit different needs:

Free: List up to 2 vehicles with basic features
Starter: Up to 10 vehicles with AI-assisted descriptions
Professional: Up to 50 vehicles with priority support
Enterprise: Unlimited vehicles with dedicated account management

How do I receive payment for a sale?

When a buyer reserves your vehicle, the reservation fee is processed through our secure payment system. You'll be notified immediately and can then arrange the final transaction directly with the buyer. We recommend meeting in a safe location and using bank transfer for the remaining balance.

Can I use AI to help write my listing?

Yes! Our AI-powered description generator can help you create compelling vehicle descriptions. Simply provide basic details about your vehicle, and our AI will craft an engaging description highlighting key features and selling points. This feature is available on Starter plans and above.

Account & Privacy

How is my personal data protected?

We take data protection seriously and comply with UK GDPR regulations. Your personal information is encrypted and stored securely. We never sell your data to third parties. For full details, please read our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from your account settings or by contacting us at support@guidethedriver.co.uk. Upon request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days as required by GDPR. Note that some data may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email address. We'll send you a secure link to reset your password. The link expires after 24 hours for security reasons. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.

Dealers & Garages

How do I create a garage?

After registering as a seller, you can create a garage from your dashboard. A garage allows you to manage multiple vehicles under a business name and invite team members to help manage listings. This is ideal for car dealerships and traders.

Can I invite team members to my garage?

Yes! As a garage owner, you can invite team members with different roles:

Admin: Full access to manage garage, vehicles, and team
Manager: Can manage vehicles and view analytics
Staff: Can create and edit vehicle listings

Team members will receive an email invitation to join your garage.

What analytics are available for dealers?

Dealers have access to comprehensive analytics including vehicle views, inquiry rates, watchlist additions, and conversion metrics. This data helps you understand which listings perform best and optimize your sales strategy.
